Suction or Robotic Pool Cleaner?

The answer is you want to spend less time manually cleaning the pool. The question is, which automatic pool cleaner to choose — Suction Pool Cleaner or Robotic Pool Cleaner?

Coming into summer and you’re already dreading the thought of regularly scrubbing and cleaning the pool? Time to upgrade from the manual cleaning to an automatic pool cleaner, giving you more time to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

The question is, which one to choose — Suction Pool Cleaner or Robotic Pool Cleaner?

All in all you can’t go wrong with either option, its more a personal preference & your budget.

Robotic Cleaners

In a nutshell, the Robotic cleaners biggest selling point is that your entire pool gets cleaned from top to toe, including the sides.  In this range of cleaners, we highly recommend the AquaVac® 500 Robotic Cleaner.  With its Dual-Mode, you can choose from two cleaning programs: a fast bottom only or a deep full bottom, wall & waterline cleaning.  This robotic cleaner offers a solid cleaning perfomance with the only few downfalls being that we found this unit has the occasional tendency to flip over, the handle is a slightly too short & it doesn’t come with a remote.

Suction Cleaners

Suction cleaners are great for picking up finer debris that sits at the bottom of your pool.  We found that suction cleaners tend to be on the cheaper side comapred to the robotic cleaners, but of course there are reasons for this.  The main difference being that the suction cleaners need to be manually connected everytime, they operate off the current suction of your swimming pool pump. The suction cleaners are much simpler and require less maintenance due to their lack of electronics.
